LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITY

 Blended Learning Class 

Online class takes 8 to 10 hours (16 individual Modules).  

Two weeks to complete the class and then  in-person to learn and practice water saves, back-boarding, extrication, CPR, AED, choking, rescue breathing, and first aid.  

There is a skill test required on the first in-person class to be accepted; 8 laps swim with two minutes of treading water with no arm help and then a 10-pound brick save in the deep end which is a timed test.

Ends with a 50-point written test and a few practice scenarios with classmates. The participant will earn a two-year LG certificate and CPR/AED + first-aid certificate.

In-Person Class offerings:

March 18, 19, 20, 21 (Monday thru Thursday) The pool reserved from 3 to 9 pm.  We will not start until 4:30 pm. Most days will be done by 8 pm.

April 14, 21, 28 (Sundays)  10 am to 5:30 pm.  Please be on time and may be out early.

May 18, 19, 20, 21  Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm; Monday & Tuesday 4:30 to 9 pm

May 6 & 9 (Monday and Thursday) Recertification class 4:30 to 9 pm.  Your current certificate must be current or no more than a month out of expiration.

Details to know: 

1. The in-person classes will be held at Turpin H.S.

2.  You cannot miss any class or any part of a class! 

3. Cost is $240 - this includes certificates, a required CPR face mask, and cost for a lifeguard to be on deck when we are in the pool.  You pay on the first class via cash, Check to me, or Venmo @Debbie-Gallagher-24

4. Must have between 6 to 10 people per class.  

5.  When you sign up for the class of your choice it is first come, first served. Email to request the class you want. 

6. Classes will be launched each at the beginning of each month so there will be two weeks to work on the online part.
